Welcome to the website for Wattisham Station Model Flying Club, which flies out of Wattisham Airfield, near Ipswich in Suffolk.  The club exists for the enjoyment of Radio Control flight of its members, who are service personnel based at Wattisham Station.

The club meets every weekend at the disused runway west of 7 Air Assault Battalion REME at Wattisham Airfield, Suffolk.  The first members arrive between 9 and 10 a.m on Saturdays and Sundays, with other members choosing to arrive a little later in the morning.  Flying is permitted all day, till the sun goes down really!!!

Ideally, at least two member should be present when flying is taking place, so that one member can spot for any aircraft approaching / departing the airfield, while the other flies his/her aircraft.

The club is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association, which is the organizing body for model flying in the United Kingdom.  All members, upon joining the club, become members of the B.M.F.A, which insures them against incidents / accidents while flying.

Pictures - As and when the club holds flying days, we will endeavour to post some pics of member's models, and their aerial antics.  Hopefully not too many crashes!!  They make for nice (but very expensive) pictures.

Reports - No reports yet. If I can make it to any model flying events outside the club, i will post a report on what the event was, any interesting points, with pictures of course!!
